Voluntary work at Masai land
The Art in Tanzania Masai village is located nearby the world famous N'gorongoro crater, Serengeti National Park and Lake Manyara National Park.

Community development work in the Masai land involves teaching and training in various subjects such as arts, languages, health and gender issues. We also operate a Nursery school for the Masai children and assist in nearby Primary and Secondary schools as well as with the Masai Women Group.

The basic volunteering fee for Art in Tanzania at the Masai Land is USD 300 per. This includes accommodation at the Masai bomas, airport transfers, transport from Arusha to Masai land, two meals a day and orientation. We also offer language courses, safaris, Kilimanjaro climbs and many other programs for an additional price. All proceeds from the adventure programs are used to fund the community work projects.

You can also combine working in Masai land with our projects in Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Iringa, Mtwara and Arusha during the placement.

At Masai land you will live in the Masai villages according to Masai traditions. Your accommodation is in Masai bomas (mud huts), which you will also be shown how to build. Your own sleeping bags and mattresses etc. are essential. The Masai land can be a total culture shock, with no water for showers, no power and tribal practices that have remained unchanged for centuries, but living the Masai life is also an immensely rewarding and enlightening experience.
